The concept of an accelerometer-driven maze puzzle isn't new, of course, I remember playing something like bada MAZE on my Nokia N95 back in 2007... Yet this is indeed a comprehensive set of maze levels, nicely implemented. bada MAZE isn't new to Symbian but recently popped up on my 'Updated' list and, interestingly, we've never even mentioned the game before here on AAS. Time to rectify that...
Here's bada MAZE in action:
We're not talking super-glossy graphics or a back story here, but bada MAZE is attractive enough... There are around 50 levels in all to navigate (the panel above scrolls)....
Within each level, you tilt your phone around to help the football reach the target. Each level, uniquely, is several screen-fulls deep, so much of it is out of sight at any given moment. There's no skeumorphism here - metal balls, rubber walls, that sort of thing - this is a simple arcade puzzle - it is what it is. Your fastest times are recorded for each level, should you wish to go back and challenge yourself by beating your own record, etc.
In the ad-supported version, there are banners on-screen at all times, plus this occasional (five second) pop-up - you can make it all go away by using the link to the paid version below, of course. The About screen gives the clue that the game engine and level design is from open source code. But I doubt anyone's going to begrudge the developer a quid for bringing the game to Symbian.
